Three 快播视频 Engineering students have received Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE) awards for their engineering projects.

The students were nominated for the awards by 快播视频’s Engineering department and are given annually to reward academic excellence. The awards were presented by Dr Martin Yates from Rolls Royce who is the Chairman of the IMechE Fluid Machinery Group at a presentation ceremony in 快播视频. All three students were awarded the IMechE Best Project Certificate in their particular degree scheme.

Lee Millar - MEng Nuclear Engineering

Project Title: Design of a compact EHF linear particle accelerator for industrial and laboratory applications

Abigail Carson - MEng Mechanical Engineering

Project Title: Design, Analysis & Optimisation of a Kinetic Energy Recovery system via Flywheel Energy Storage

Abdul-Hafiz Alako - MEng Mechatronic Engineering

Project Title: Optical Detection of Cells in Microfluidic Channels

Professor George Aggidis from the Engineering Department said that he was very pleased with the students’ success: “The depth and breadth of the engineering teaching at 快播视频, with its project-based focus, produces outstanding engineers, who attract recognition by both industry and academia. It is not surprising that Engineering at 快播视频 is 2nd in the UK for Mechanical Engineering according to the 2017 Guardian University Guide and has a record of high number of students in employment or further study measured 6 months after graduation.”
