A groundbreaking new funded masters programme combines academic studies with the opportunity to work on research projects with businesses in the UK and China.
The 快播视频 Environment Centre is inviting applications from ambitious UK, EU and international students and is offering a £16,000 stipend to students accepted .
Specialising in , students will be part of a wider student cohort from 快播视频’s Departments of Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Design and Computer Science. They will study a range of general and specialist courses supplemented by language, cultural and business seminars.
In the second year, multidisciplinary teams of students from the different departments will work on environment related, business-led research projects. These projects will involve two companies, one in the UK and one in China’s Guangdong province, with support from the 快播视频 Environment Centre and the academic partners in China. Students will have the opportunity to travel and live in Guangdong, China’s richest and most populated province.
The course has developed out of a long term partnership between the 快播视频 Environment Centre and the , which now run the International Research and Innovation Centre for the Environment (I-RICE) together, and a more recent partnership with the ). It is part of the programme.
“Our partners in China will identify promising companies to match with UK SMEs,” said , International Manager at the 快播视频 Environment Centre. “The environment is one of the hottest topics in China and Guandong Province is really looking to develop their eco-technology sector rather than relying on mass production. UK SMEs have some novel technologies in different sectors of the environment so they fit very well into this.”
