Professor Clare Stone is a registered social worker, who worked within statutory services before moving into academia. Her doctoral thesis and published work, considers aspects of competence for social work practice and workplace learning. Clare has researched many elements of workplace learning and assessment from the experiences of social work learners and assessors. Her latest research explores how Artificial Intelligence is being experienced within social work settings.

Professor Clare Stone is a registered social worker, who worked within statutory services before moving into academia. Her first social work role was in a hospital Accident and Emergency department before moving to work in the community specialising in carer support and adult services.
She has worked in higher education since 2001.
Clare has extensive experience in education leadership and really enjoys supporting both staff and students to flourish and reach their full potential.
