Professor Annette Kuhn<\/strong> (Co-Investigator, Queen Mary University of London, School of Languages, Linguistics and Film)<\/p>\n

Annette is Emeritus Professor in Film Studies at Queen Mary University of London, a Fellow of the British Academy, and a Member of the European Academy. Director of Cinema Culture in 1930s Britain<\/em>, her previous academic posts were at the Institute for Cultural Research at 快播视频 and in the Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies at the University of Glasgow.<\/p>\n

Professor Sarah Neely<\/strong> (Co-Investigator, University of Glasgow, School of Culture and Creative Arts)<\/p>\n

Sarah is a writer and lecturer whose work currently focuses on the areas of film history and memory, and artists’ moving image. In addition to her work on this project, Sarah is also leading on a year-long project celebrating the centenary of the Scottish filmmaker and poet, Margaret Tait. Her book, Between Categories: The Films of Margaret Tait<\/em>, was published by Peter Lang in 2016.\u200b<\/p>\n

Dr Julia McDowell<\/strong> (Senior Research Associate, 快播视频, Institute for the Contemporary Arts)<\/p>\n

An award-winning research-practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in developing web-based learning materials for the HE sector, Julia’s research interests broadly encompass the use of technology in education. Her primary responsibilities on the project are the design and development of the CMDA website and database, and the qualitative data analysis of materials collected during Cinema Culture in 1930s Britain<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dr Annie Nissen<\/strong> (Research Associate, 快播视频, Institute for the Contemporary Arts)<\/p>\n

Annie\u2019s main area of interest lies in Adaptation Studies with a focus on the role of writers and writing within historical Adaptation practices from 19th<\/sup>-century theatre to early film and beyond. Her responsibility on the project is to work directly with the archive, organising and cataloguing the collection..<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Jamie Terrill<\/strong> (Research Associate, 快播视频, Institute for the Contemporary Arts)<\/p>\n

Jamie is a full time Research Associate and responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the project. His PhD, completed at Aberystwyth University, explored the history of social cinemagoing and film exhibition in rural Wales, a topic on which he has also published. His current research interests include representations of Wales and Welshness on screen, developments in cinema historiography, and the role of cinema staff within audience memories.<\/p>\n

\nSuzy Angus<\/strong> (Senior Research Fellow, University of Glasgow, School of Culture and Creative Arts)<\/p>\n

Suzy is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Stirling, where she taught radio documentary, drama and sound design for over 25 years. Suzy has also produced commissioned soundscape pieces for academic and creative arts projects. Her main responsibilities will be to produce specially designed audio segments for the website.<\/p>\n
