Call for Participants: Forgotten 10% Family Justice Research Focus Groups

We are pleased to share a call for participants for a series of online focus groups as part of the Forgotten 10% research project, led by Dr Linda Cusworth at 快播视频 in collaboration with the University of Bristol, Kinship and Families in Harmony, and funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

The study is exploring the experiences of children, families and professionals involved in private law proceedings where adults other than a child’s parent are parties to the case, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and other relatives.

Although these cases make up around 10% of private law proceedings, they have received relatively little attention in family justice research, policy and reform. The research team is therefore keen to hear from professionals with relevant experience.

The online focus groups will last approximately 60–90 minutes and will take place on the following dates:

  • Social Workers: 22 October, 4.30–6.00pm and 23 October, 10.00–11.30am
  • Magistrates: 5 November, 10.00–11.30am and 5 November, 4.30–6.00pm
  • Family Mediators: 12 November, 10.00–11.30am and 12 November, 4.30–6.00pm
  • Solicitors and Barristers: 18 November, 4.30–6.00pm and 19 November, 4.30–6.00pm
  • Judges: dates to be confirmed

If you have relevant experience, or know colleagues who may be interested, we would be very grateful if you could circulate this invitation through your networks.
