All students are part of the Junior Common Room (JCR). The JCR Exec are a committee of students elected by you to be the voice of the student body and to represent your interests. Their roles are varied and aimed at ensuring all students have a positive experience through a range of events and activities organised during the year. Zehra Bari - President

Hey everyone, I am Zehra Bari the Bowland President. I am a third-year business management student from Dublin. I am so excited to be in this role as I have been on the JCR previously as the Social and Events Officer and I found that I wanted to do even more for Bowland students. I am passionate about all things Bowland College related and I will be at all college activities. Please don't hesitate to ask me questions you have as I am the link for Bowland students to the University services. Everyone on the JCR Executive is more than happy to help and we will know how guide you.

Ben Evans- VP Democracy and Finance

Hi! I'm Ben, a second-year maths student, and I’m Vice President for Democracy and Finance. This means that I oversee the JCR budget and manage all JCR meetings and elections so that we can create the best experience for students. If you have any questions or suggestions for the JCR, or want to get involved with the exec team, then please get in touch.

Ellie Hall - Media and Communications

Hey! My name is Ellie (she/her), I'm a second-year Marketing student and also your Media and Communications Rep. Ella Dawe - Socials and Events

Hi, I’m Ella a second-year Biomedical Science student and one of your Socials and Events Officers. I really enjoyed our events last year and so I’m really looking forward to helping organise these for our new freshers, while making them accessible and inclusive for all.

I will be working towards expanding our sober events like wellbeing socials and craft workshops, to allow students to socialise in low pressure environments. To keep our events welcoming for everyone, I want to keep communication with our students open and so please feel free to contact me regarding any ideas or recommendations you have towards our events and socials.
